Sivec Marble from Prilep, North Macedonia

Luminous, fine crystalline, precise.

Sivec marble is a fine-grained white marble quarried at Prilep in North Macedonia, valued for its purity and even texture, with delicate grey or beige veining.

SUNMINERALS supplies it as blocks, slabs, bookmatched pairs and cut-to-size pieces, with samples and a Technical Data Sheet on request. The showroom is in Business Bay, Dubai.

The character of Sivec Marble

Light goes a little way into Sivec and comes back softer. It is the white that still looks like stone.

Marble begins as limestone. Heat and pressure remake it until the grain recrystallises, and what comes back has depth instead of pattern. Light enters a polished face, scatters a fraction below it and returns softened. That is why real marble never looks printed.

Sivec is prized for how little it says. The grain is fine and the texture even, so a floor or a wall holds one clean white from end to end. The grey or beige veining is a trace, never the subject.

Slabs are sequenced from the block before they are cut, so the veining runs on across the surface instead of stopping at every joint, in a hotel lobby or in a family kitchen.

What is Sivec marble?

Sivec marble is a fine-grained white marble quarried at the Marble Sivec Quarry in Prilep, North Macedonia.

It is valued for its purity and even texture: a floor or a wall holds one clean white from end to end, and the grey or beige veining is a trace, never the subject. Polished, light enters the surface and returns softened, which is why real marble never looks printed.

What is bookmatched Sivec marble?

Bookmatched pairs are slabs taken from the same block and kept together all the way through cutting. More broadly, Sivec slabs are sequenced from the block before they are cut, so the veining runs on across a wall or a floor instead of stopping at every joint.

Where is Sivec marble used?

Sivec marble is supplied for flooring, cladding, bespoke architectural elements, countertops, and stairs and window sills, in hotel lobbies, residences and family kitchens alike. Full-height cladding is laid out against the drawing before cutting, so a wall arrives as one continuous surface.

What finishes are available for Sivec marble?

The sheen is honed or polished, and the texture can be sandblasted, bushhammered, brushed or sawn cut. The finishing vocabulary includes honed, aged, polished, sawn cut, rockfaced, sandblasted, bushhammered and tumbled.

Across the collection there are more than 60 finishes, so the surface is chosen for the room, the light and the way it will be used.

Which formats and thicknesses is Sivec marble supplied in?

Sivec marble is supplied as blocks, slabs, bookmatched pairs and cut-to-size pieces. Standard slab thicknesses are 2 cm and 3 cm, and thicker formats from 4 cm to 12 cm are cut for the project.

Final slab dimensions depend on the selected block. The approximate maximum block processing size is 3.0 × 2.0 × 2.0 m.

What is the minimum order for Sivec marble?

Orders can begin from one slab, subject to material availability. If the selected material is in factory inventory, shipment can be arranged promptly.

When blocks must be sourced, the programme is confirmed after material, volume, processing and finish requirements have been reviewed. The lead time is confirmed for each specification.

Can I see a sample of Sivec marble before ordering?

Yes. Ask for a sample of Sivec marble in the finish you have in mind. Before production begins, you approve the selected material, finish and appearance. Production then follows those agreed specifications, with blocks and slabs selected and sorted to support consistency.
